Assessment: task_de35029099d34c94be186c8992ee706a¶
Task: Investigate low-confidence dream finding: mac.fleet, mac.
Repair task: task_96b8204854f04e04bd648fd9e90adf00 (Repair contract
prerequisites for the parent investigation).
Finding kind: low-confidence dream-cycle candidate — scope project —
repo areas mac.fleet, mac.
Assessment date: 2026-07-16
Assessed by: fleet worker (investigation; no deliverable source/test edits).
Status: CLOSED — NOT ACTIONABLE¶
The finding is a low-confidence dream-cycle candidate over the mac.fleet
subsystem. Ground truth in the task-owned worktree shows the named fleet
modules already exist with public APIs intact and are covered by a green
behavior suite. There is no reproducible code or test defect to repair.
Finding Under Review¶
The dream cycle surfaced a low-confidence candidate implicating the mac.fleet
area of the mac project. Low-confidence dream findings are, by construction,
weak signals emitted for triage rather than confirmed defects: they warrant a
ground-truth pass before any module, test, skill, or tool is changed. This
assessment performs that pass and records the verdict.
Ground Truth Observed¶
Measured in the task-owned worktree against the bootstrapped .venv
(python3 3.12.13; git and gh present; pytest/coverage installed by
python3 scripts/bootstrap-project.py, whose .venv/bin/{python,pytest,coverage}
outputs are present and executable).
1. The fleet modules exist¶
| Module | Lines |
|---|---|
src/mac/fleet_creds.py |
390 |
src/mac/fleet_deploy.py |
240 |
src/mac/fleet_env.py |
278 |
src/mac/fleet_learning.py |
397 |
src/mac/fleet_move.py |
422 |
src/mac/fleet_node_install.py |
264 |
src/mac/fleet_setup.py |
756 |
src/mac/fleet_ssh.py |
434 |
2. Each module has a behavior suite¶
The fleet subsystem ships 14 dedicated test modules:
test_fleet_creds.py, test_fleet_deploy_edges.py, test_fleet_env.py,
test_fleet_learning.py, test_fleet_move.py, test_fleet_node_install.py,
test_fleet_samples.py, test_fleet_setup.py, test_fleet_setup_edges.py,
test_fleet_skills.py, test_fleet_snapshot.py, test_fleet_ssh.py,
test_fleet_tasks_tool.py, and test_fleet_tool.py.
3. The fleet suite is green¶
Command:
.venv/bin/python -m pytest tests/test_fleet_*.py -q
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Result | 233 passed, 0 failed |
Finding¶
- Is the finding actionable? No. There is no reproducible failure in
mac.fleet/macattributable to code. The fleet modules exist with intact public APIs and the 233-test behavior suite passes as-is. - Evidence gap. The candidate is a low-confidence dream-cycle signal with no failing test or reproducible defect behind it. A weak triage signal over an already-complete, already-green subsystem is insufficient to justify changing any module, test, skill, or tool.
- Remediation. None to product code or tests. This assessment file closes the finding with its verdict and evidence gap.
Note¶
This assessment file is the committed repo_change deliverable for an
investigation-only task. Prior repair attempts established the same ground
truth but failed contract verification because they produced no committed file
(repo_change evidence requires changed files, so a verification-only pass
with an empty diff is rejected). Per the task instruction, no source or test
files were modified; generated coverage artifacts (coverage.json,
.coverage) remain gitignored.
